BA, San Telmo and Puerto Madero

Zona San Telmo is a little older and more classic than some of the others and a great place for antiques.  Most of the pictures there are from a stroll down Calle Humberto where you can find food, music, Tango shows, freak shows and trinkets.  Puerto Madero, on the other hand, is a completely different type of neighborhood and home to some of the best restaurants in Buenos Aires.

San Telmo folks, looks like they've been waiting for a train since 1947.

No music, just a poser.

Folks seemed very serious about these classical musicians.

Old neighborhood, old motorcycles.

In the San Telmo center on Sundays they have a large "flea market" type of antique sale.

Keys similar to these are still widely used in Argentina; I've used them in most of my hotel stays here, and in Chile.

More old stuff.

Tiny toy soldiers, very detailed.

Phone and glass.

More classic glass.

San Telmo shows us all the things we wanted to drive when we were kids, and now!

Old locks.

This guys disposition said "I just got out of prison and I really need to make this f%@#*!ng musical bird thing work so give me a f*$&@ing tip!

"Free Hugs" - the nicer side of San Telmo.

Lots of music in San Telmo but this was the largest group on Sunday.

Many trinkets along Avenida Humberto, near Plaza Dorrego in San Telmo.

Just a little political statement/suggestion, in San Telmo.

A guy and his lamps.

A guy and his glass ball.

A guy and his guitar. I don't know if he played the guitar or just posed and sipped his Mate.

More old stuff in San Telmo.

Just two guys selling nuts, talking some kind of smack.

In Puerto Madero now. The boat is the A.R.A. Uruguay, built in 1874 and fully restored as this museum in 1974.

On Deck. It was used for military and scientific purposes.

Bow.

More on deck.

Inside the wheel house.

Another boat, view from bridge.

View with bridge; "Puente de la Mujer" or "Bridge of the lady".

A motorhome type of bus for some Puerto Madero venders.
