BA, General allover shots, and Uruguay

This page starts with a mix of things form BA and ends with my entry into Uruguay.

Click on the image and rent a moto from Mariano.

They told me that BA has the biggest soccer stadium in the world and this is it.

The soccer stadium is 4 blocks from Mariano's shop - he's the guy that helped get my bike back to normal.

If you want to rent a motorcycle Mariano does that too. www.motocare.com.ar

This kid had an absolutely amazing voice - the next Andrei Boccelli...(sp?)

I ran into this group of skate punks doing their thing.

Actually they weren't punks at all, they were a really cool group of kids, it's just fun saying skate punk.

ouch.

This kid was the smalles out of about 20 that were there.

Most were in their mid-teens but I would guess this kid was about 10, and no taller than the stairs he was jumping.

He made it on this one...

All 20 or so kids were cheering. If I hadn't been fiddling with the settings on my camera I would have caught his huge grin - it was bigger than him!

Probably the second youngest kid here, he had a very distinct "superman" way of launching his jump.

He landed well also, but him and the other young'n were just doing straight jumps - the older kids would make their skateboards flip in the air.

Good landing. This was all taking place on the front steps of the Bank of Argentina, on the Plaza 25 de Mayo.

Battle scars.

Back in the downtown area, Florida street, one of the artists.

Just a great big metal flower thing on Avenida del Libertador.

Park near the metal flower thing.

One of the more elaborate memorials for Eva Peron.

Another man on a horse, BA's got tons of them.

Don Quixote, Man of La Mancha! This is the picture I took after the cop almost wrote me a ticket for turning right on red.

Belgrano neighborhood. I think I'll stay here on my next trip to BA - it's a little outside the center, with a little less congestion and smog.

In the Cathedral in the congressional neighborhood.

Same place, different veiw.

Thinking in front of the congressional building.

Congressional building.

Congressional closeup.

When you see a line like this with smoke coming out of the front of it, get in line. When it's your turn ask for a Churipan (Chorizo sandwich).

"We're at the time where if we change our attitude we can save the planet." This was on the base of the obelisco for their earth-day.

Some theater group doing a play near the obelisco.

He filmed me photographing the group, so I photographed his filming my photographing of the group while he filmed me photographing him. What?!

Last glimpse of BA, leaving on a ferry to Colonia del Sacramento.

This is what it looks like behind a 250 foot ferry rapidly approaching 38 mph.

It was a chilly night so they had to warm the drums before a performance - there's a significant difference in sound between a cold and warm drum.

Historical district in Colonia del Sacramento, typical corner.

Many old cars are still on the road here, others are made into scenery like this one.
